The John Lewis Partnership is planning to hire more than 10,000 people across the country over the coming months, of which 8,400 are Christmas temporary jobs.
The retailer–which houses its namesake John Lewis department-store chain and grocer Waitrose–said Friday that it will recruit 2,800 seasonal roles across its 329 Waitrose stores and over 2,900 people at its 34 John Lewis stores. The jobs range from supermarket assistants, night shift, and customer delivery drivers as well as sales and merchandising roles.
A further 2,700 seasonal roles will be in the company’s supply chain, including warehouse operatives and drivers, it said.
The company said that it will hire an extra 1,700 people across the business in a variety of roles over the coming months.
