Verizon Communications on Thursday said its board raised the quarterly dividend by 1.9%, to 66.5 cents from 65.25 cents.
The new payout, equal to $2.66 a year, represents an annual yield of about 7.78% based on Wednesday’s closing price of $34.18, up from 7.61%.
The New York communications giant said the increased dividend is payable Nov. 1 to shareholders of record Oct. 10, adding that it has raised its dividend for 17 straight years.
